Hootsuite is another one of those Twitter -- and Facebook, LinkedIn, and Foursquare -- apps that seems aimed more squarely at social network and social media marketing types rather than average users, but if you have a brand to push and love you some stats, especially if you're already all in with Hootsuite on the app, the app is a great companion.
If you try to keep yourself updated with the latest developments in the technology and security world, you must be knowing about the recent Facebook-CA scandal. While most of us knew about Facebook’s relentless data collection practices, this revelation has forced many of us to raise questions and look for Facebook alternatives. Some are even looking for ways to permanently delete their Facebook account.
What about Ello or Diaspora? I have been getting kicked completely out of Facebook and I have had to delete my app several times. And I know that I have let my friends on Facebook know that I was looking for something outside of Facebook. My Aunt as well as a few others are looking too. But I told them as soon as I find something I would let them know. I don’t think I should be discriminated against for being conservative and this to is happening on Facebook as well.
Lots of services can feed you the latest news. Facebook, though, displays the specific stories your friends and family are talking about. If you value that feature, Nuzzel is a great choice. You can sync the app to other social networks you might use, like Twitter and LinkedIn, and it will feed you the articles your friends, as well as friends of friends, are talking about. The app also has a "Best of Nuzzel" feature where you can see the stories being widely discussed across the whole platform.
Following local, national, and international news sources is a good place to start of course, but you can also keep an eye on relevant hashtags or create a Twitter list if you want to keep your news gathering separate from your socializing. For a boosted news experience on Twitter, connect your account to TweetDeck, where you’ve got more advanced search and filter tools.

Last year, we launched YouTube Go in India, a brand new app built from the ground up to unlock the power of YouTube for the next generation of users. Since then, we've also launched YouTube Go in 14 additional countries, including Indonesia, Nigeria and Thailand, and we've seen firsthand the impact that bringing more people into the world of video can have.
It is good to read these comments. I am also looking for somewhere else to go. I do not like what fb is doing either. I have been reading some on these othe websites and as for me, i think i will try Mastodon. I like the things i have read about it. Good luck to everyone that is deciding to go somewhere else. Because it isn’t right that fb is trying to control everybody.

At the end of the last year, the platform has increased the number of characters that can be used in a post, but this move did almost nothing to restore Twitter's former glory. Celebrities getting caught up in Twitter wars, fake accounts and ultra-right-wing supporters have all contributed to the current state of affairs on Twitter. Most people simply decide to use another social network that doesn't have the limitations imposed by a misguided company management and users that lack respect for everyone's right to free speech.

An Instagram account only takes a few seconds to set up and can be deleted just as quickly – provided you know how. The function to delete the Instagram account is not so easy to find. We show you how to permanently remove all your images and videos from the web as well as social signs and comments on your content. Alternatively, Instagram also offers the option to temporarily disable your...

Flickr has strong organization tools for your images, being able to bring together collections into "Albums" rather than having just one feed. Flickr also has a "Groups" section that are open-sourced public albums. This is a nice way to find collections of images of similar topics, themes, gear, or geography, but these "Groups" are too often messy, unfiltered, and unorganized.
Today's Twitter calls to mind the plot of Ghostbusters 2: It's a digital sewer of negativity slime we're all wading through. With the company's fortunes tied directly to user count, there's little incentive to purge bad actors or even those who break Twitter's own rules, especially if they're famous enough. In this case, I did what the Ghostbusters might do—I broke with the establishment and took things into my own hands. I (mostly) left Twitter, and joined Mastodon.
‘Mastodon isn’t one place and one set of rules,’ it states in their official website. It is unique as it can be used as individual instances, which are specialized versions of the platform themed by the topics of user’s interests. However, you’d need your own server for running your social media platform—whose method is widely available on the internet. Businesses and advertisers can take advantage of this and create their own social media platform on their own infrastructure. And since it is your own social media, you make your own rules.
It's very much like Twitter with a character limit of 500, except there's not *one* website you have to trust, but you can choose the mastodon server ("instance") that you trust and they are linked, so you can follow people from other instances. The instances all have their own rules, so you can pick a place with as few or many rules as you are comfortable with. mrmbl • May 2017 • 12 agrees and 5 disagrees Disagree   Agree
Thanks to its distributed design and because no person owns it, it’s away from any kind of advertisement and corporate interference. After making an account, you retain the ownership of your personal data. It’s also better than Facebook for people who wish to hide their real identity as it allows pseudonyms. You can use hashtags, mentions, text formatting, etc.
500px is a money making machine and reward certain types of photography. (It’s also full of bots). Flickr was great, but it’s now a dinosaur. Tumblr is owned by Verizon and crippled with bots and porn. EyeEm is great as a platform to sell your images. Unsplash has a tremendous visibility but your work is then available for free even for commercial use. Behance is great to showcase projects, but not really made for sharing single images.
If you are already tired with YouTube ads then Vimeo can offer you pleasing experience with its ad free video service. Even if you start with basic free plans, then also users can easily upload high quality HD videos to this platform with maximum upload limit of 500 MB per week. Most of the vimeo users often focus on “Video on demand” mode as it provides constant earning possibilities over channel. Vimeo supports video uploads in numerous file formats while working like a potential platform for marketing and promotion.
Available as a mobile app (you can run Android apps on a PC How to Emulate Android and Run Android Apps on Your PC How to Emulate Android and Run Android Apps on Your PC It's actually pretty easy to get Android apps running on your desktop or laptop! Here, we step you through the best methods. Read More ), Amino can be installed on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Its focus is similar to Mastodon: you’re given communities to join based on your interests.

TweetDeck, now owned by Twitter, is a desktop powerhouse that tries to bring the same multi-column, quick filtering functionality to the iPhone. Favored by social media marketing, analyst, and engagement types because of the ability to sort, organize, manage, and push out tons of Twitter material, the approach translates down to the much smaller screen with okay but not great results.

Fire up the app, and when you tap to take a picture, you're shunted to your phone's default camera app to take your photo. Snap it, and you're returned to Flickr to edit it. Best of all, Flickr gives you ultimate control over the licensing of your photos. You can make them public or private, license them yourself via Getty, make them remix-friendly via Creative Commons, or keep them locked down, all rights reserved to you. And contrary to previous reports, Flickr is still a buzzing social network with thousands of users and thousands more photos.

I’ve reviewed VSCO before, and I personally think it’s a great platform. VSCO is about sharing creativity, and it’s not about collecting likes, hearts, or comments. You can favorite and republish photos you like, but the main goal is to share your photos with like-minded creators, and find inspiration in the community.  VSCO is a camera, editor, and platform in one. | VSCO – Free
My name is Jamie Spencer and I have spent the past 5 years building money making blogs. After growing tired of the 9-5, commuting and never seeing my family I decided that I wanted to make some changes and launched my first blog. Since then I have launched lots of successful niche blogs and after selling my survivalist blog I decided to teach other people how to do the same.
In 2016 Apple banned gab’s mobile app on its Appstore for promoting explicit adult content. This was followed by Play Store in 2017, which banned the app for violating hate speech guidelines of Google. Google further noted during its ban that the platform failed in demonstrating a minimum required level of moderation and encouraged violence. Despite all this, Gab still shelters people who are easy on hate speech and non-art nudity. That said, you’ll have to search for things that could offend you on Gab dedicatedly, or else, it is chiefly stuffed with pop culture art, memes, and fair discussions on a variety of topics. And even if you find something that’s offensive to you, like a discussion on online anonymity, you can use the scroll button and explore some memes on Trump.
Trusted platform that does not ban people for offensive speech... speak freely is their motto. No Ads, and you can freely speak your mind without fear of being suspended, and without bias developers controlling statistics. As long as you follow the few simple guidelines that prevent bots, parody sites, and fake account abuse, you can speak freely without retribution. troberge • Apr 2017 • 15 agrees and 8 disagrees Disagree   Agree

“All my work up to November of 2016 had been social media jobs, like promo posts, ads on my Instagram. Then out of nowhere, I get this huge job that had nothing to do with Instagram and I was valued off my work, versus my number [of followers]. And I was like holy crap, it really put into perspective how small of a bubble Instagram actually is.” — Andrew Kearns (490k followers)
Someone You Loved is Capaldi’s first single to pass the mark, while Giant is Harris’ 20th and Rag’n’Bone Man’s third. Overall consumption of Harris tracks since his 2007 debut Acceptable In The 80s stand at 22,544,175. That’s a huge amount but Rihanna - with whom he spent six weeks at No.1 with We Found Love in 2011 – dwarfs that with a to-date tally of 41,073,313 since her 2005 debut. Steel Banglez, AJ Tracey and MoStack all score their first Top 10 single, with their collaboration Fashion Week becoming the highest of this week’s five new entries to the Top 75 at No.7 (31,270 sales). It is Steel Banglez’ third Top 75 hit as a credited artist – he has many more as a producer - AJ Tracey’s 10th and MoStack’s sixth. Four weeks after peaking at No.7, Options makes gains for the second week in a row for NSG feat. Tion Wayne, and returns to the Top 10, climbing 11-10 (24,899 sales). And four weeks after debuting and peaking at No.8, Walk Me Home rallies 12-9 (27,350 sales) for Pink, helped by its newly-released promotional video. There are new peaks inside the Top 10 for Just You And I (4-3, 40,727 sales) by Tom Walker, Sucker (5-4, 36,898 sales) by Jonas Brothers, Location (8-6, 31,564 sales) by Dave feat. Burna Boy and - improving its chart position for the eighth straight week since it debuted at No.43 - I’m So Tired (9-8, 28,138 sales) by Lauv & Troye Sivan. Completing a rare Top 10 in which eight tracks climb two are static and none fall, Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored surfs 6-5 (32,922 sales) for Ariana Grande. Overall singles sales are up 4.66% week-on-week at 18,494,978. That is their second highest level to date, and 12.33% above same week 2018 sales of 16,465,382. Paid-for sales are down 0.44% week-on-week at 741,229, and are 28.55% below same week 2018 sales of 1,037,469. 27 years after he topped the album chart with his eponymous debut solo album, Michael Ball returns to the summit with Coming Home To You. The album is a collection of covers by the 56-year-old, with many of the songs pre-dating Ball’s first album, including To Love Somebody (The Bee Gees, 1967), Love Is Like A Butterfly (Dolly Parton, 1974) and Miss You Nights (Cliff Richard, 1975) and Sail On (The Commodores, 1979). Coming Home To You is Ball’s first album since his back-to-back No.1 collaborations with fellow tenor Alfie Boe, Together (November 2016), and Together Again (November 2017). Thus providing his fourth No.1 in all, it is also his 22nd Top 75 album, and his ninth Top 10 album, it can’t match those Boe collaborations for first week sales. Consumption of 18,039 units (including 114 from sales-equivalent streams) – the lowest for a No.1 since Ed Sheeran’s Divide topped 83 weeks ago with 13,975 sales - is considerably below Together’s first week tally of 44,860 and Together Again’s 43,795. It is also below the 19,087 copies that Boe’s subsequent solo album, As Time Goes By, sold when it debuted and peaked 17 weeks ago at No.10. Blending original recordings of the former with newly-recorded instrumental elements provided by the latter, The Carpenters With Royal Philharmonic Orchestra reached No.8 last December and, with Richard Carpenter on a UK promotional tour, re-enters this week at No.10 (5,880 sales). George Ezra scores his sixth Top 40 single with Pretty Shining People (41-38), while parent album Staying At Tamara’s sales increase 13.17% week-on-week to 11,541 – a 10 week high – as it climbs 6-5. The rest of the Top 10: Singing To Strangers (1-2, 14,046 sales) by Jack Savoretti, The Greatest Showman soundtrack (4-3, 13,799 sales), What A Time To Be Alive (3-4, 1,534 sales) by Tom Walker, Bohemian Rhapsody (5-6, 10,710 sales) by Queen, Psychodrama (2-7, 10,495 sales) by Dave, Thank U Next (7-8, 9,119 sales) by Ariana Grande and A Star Is Born (8-9, 7,438 sales by Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper. Overall album sales are up 4.86% week-on-week at 1,796,945, 4.67% below same week 2018 sales of 1,882,925. Sales-equivalent streams accounted for a record 1,182,979 sales, 65.83% of the total. Sales of paid-for albums are up 4.25% week-on-week at 613,966, 33.84% below same week 2018 sales of 928,024.
